I just read about this test described like this : Before the interview, they place a wobbly or unstable chair in front of their desk while keeping a sturdier, more comfortable one elsewhere in the room. The idea isn’t to test your balance—it’s to see whether you’ll recognize the problem and address it.
As a Sophrologist and Coach, this refers exactly to what I teach: awareness of my body, my feelings, not to suffer something unpleasant if I have a way to remedy it and communicate assertively.
It could be the chair, the A/C right on me, the music too loud in a Bar, a bouquet of flowers or a computer screen that prevents me from seeing the person I’m talking to clearly, a speaker who speaks too quietly and whom I cannot hear well… In many situations, you don’t have to suffer.
1/ become aware of what bothers you, what creates discomfort, what makes you tense (Sophrology helps in this process)
2/ Fix this problem yourself
3/ or, perhaps it is necessary to ask another person to intervene
4/ Ask assertively, taking care of yourself and the other, without aggressive (often unconsciously increased by the uncomfortable situation) and with a smile
What do you think?
