This type of yoga is based on Chinese medicine and Taoist philosophy which explains that in Nature everything is connected and interdependent, that 2 forces work in us and in balance (YIN and YANG) to form a vital energy (the CHI or PRANA). By observing these forces within us, by harmonizing them, we tend towards a state of balance within ourselves, that is to say, towards good physical and mental health.
YIN being the feminine energy in the body, i.e. calm, passivity, stability, introspection, this type of Yoga will therefore have these principles.
Other yoga types are generally “Yang”, i.e. active, warming, dynamic
Concretely, the poses are:

– Practiced with no warming up
– gentle, slow, we don’t force anything, we feel
– held for a long time, while still, 3 to 5 minutes. We use cushions and blocks to prop ourselves up and find a comfortable position which is the right stretch.
– suitable for everyone, whatever your age, your body type, your pain and blockages
Why is this type of yoga different from other types of yoga?
– To release tension gently and deeply
– To stimulate the deep tissues of the body such as tendons and connective tissues (fascia) during stretching which are not used as much in other types of yoga
– To calm the central nervous system, due to calming and deep breathing
– To stimulate the meridians, recirculate energy (bladder, kidneys, spleen, liver, gallbladder, heart)
– To sometimes release blocked emotions
So, do you think you should try it? “Finding your comfort in discomfort“?
I can’t tell you what you will feel, it will be up to you to experience, observe and appreciate 😊
